Miller is Optimist Middle Level Leader for November

Coraline (Cora) Miller is the Sauk Prairie Optimist Middle Level Leader for November. Cora, an 8th grader, is the daughter of Megan Tarnutzer and Lucas Miller.

Jennifer Gulsvig-Dunn and Jeff Williams, middle school choir and band teachers, respectively, proudly nominated Cora for the Middle Level Leader award.

“Cora was nominated by the music department for her exceptional dedication and passion for music. She is a positive role model for all of her peers and has become a leader in both band and choir," according to Gulsvig-Dunn and Williams. "Whether participating in group performances or working on solo projects, Cora consistently exhibits a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, inspiring her peers to strive for that same level of excellence. This year, Cora has really started to step up into her leadership role and it has been so much fun to see her peers respect her.”

Cora has participated in the middle school musical for three years, has been in Soaring Sound Show Choir the last two years, sang in the Mini-Rising Stars concert, and participated in solo/ensemble for both band and choir as a 7th grader.

Apart from her academic and musical commitments, Cora participates on the school forensics team.  She is also active in Girl Scouts and her church choir.

Cora plans to continue her musical and theatrical journey in High School by auditioning for the show choir and musicals and participating in forensics.  Cora hopes to go to college and become an engineer.
