Sixth graders have been exploring the world around them and finding microorganisms from nearby ponds. Some of the creepy crawly microorganisms they discovered were snails, daphnia, mosquito larva, hydra, and many more!
The students then took a closer look at these microorganisms. They learned how to create slides for microscopes and how to use a microscope in a science lab.

A group of Grade 7 students recently attended the CWTAG Leadership Challenge.
Students started their day at Devil’s Lake where they rowed across the lake in canoes. On the shore, students searched the woods for “animal hides” that they brought back to the trading post for reward.
In the afternoon, students participated in three problem solving challenge activities at Expeditions Unlimited. Students worked together to cross from one small platform to another on a tire swing, remove a tire for a tall pole without touching it, and get through a “laser course” without tripping wires.
Students were asked to reflect on what leadership qualities they brought to each challenge.
The group of students who attended the leadership conference had been identified for their leadership skills.
