We are excited to welcome new staff members to the Sauk Prairie School District…
Meet Erin Miller, Speech and Language Pathologist for Sauk Prairie Middle School and Merrimac Community School. Erin, who resides in Cross Plains, has a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She also has a cross categorical special education license from Viterbo.
“I was inspired to become a speech/language pathologist because of a family I worked for in college whose daughter needed services. While there are a variety of settings available to speech language pathologists, schools offer a unique opportunity of seeing students on a regular basis and forming connections that can make a real impact. Growing up, there were several teachers who made profound differences in my education and life, and those lessons continue to influence me today. By working at Sauk Prairie, I hope to positively influence students in the way that my teachers did. What's more, being able to work with students in more than just a clinical setting, such as in the classroom or in the community, helps to generalize skills in a meaningful way."
In her free time, Erin loves to read, especially books about history. This summer she traveled across Europe on a World War II tour. She published a non-fiction book in 2018.
Welcome to Sauk Prairie, Erin!

We are excited to see you at our School Supply Drop off on August 28th from 3:30-6:00 pm!

We had a lovely final day in NYC! Started at Ellen's Stardust Diner where we were serenaded by the wait staff. Then we took a lovely stroll through Central Park before heading to China Town and Little Italy for some shopping and lunch. Then we went to Greenwich Village where we saw the Stonewall Memorial. We ended at the High Line and Chelsea Market. These students walked over 10 miles a day and never once complained! It was a lovely way to end our trip. We are so proud of our students. They took so many positive risks on this trip and left with so many wonderful memories!

Another amazing day in NYC for SPMS! We started out with a Radio City Music Hall tour getting to see them start designing their Christmas spectacular show AND got to meet a rockette!!! Then we saw the Rockefeller Center, and did a tiny bit of shopping before our Broadway workshop! We got to learn a section of "One Short Day" from Wicked from one of the ensemble members! Several students are not involved in theater, but they took a risk and joined in! Then we had iconic NYC pizza before heading to see Wicked!! We ended our night with a trip to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum! The kids had a blast and once again represented SPMS with pride!! We have one final day in NYC before heading home!

Day two did not disappoint!! We started our day at the Statue of Liberty, then headed to the 9/11 museum and memorial. Our students were incredibly respectful and reflective the entire time. After that we got to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Then we got to see Little Shop of Horrors starring Sarah Hyland from Modern Family! It was incredible! Some kids got to meet some of the cast afterwards and got autographs!! We ended our night in Times Square with a group photo!! Such an awesome day!

It has been a FABULOUS first day!!! Walks around Times Square, went to the top of the Empire State Building, had New York cheesecake, saw Bryant Park, the New York Public Library, all after waking up at 2:30 am and leaving SPMS at 3:45 am!! These kids and adults are amazing!! Excited for another full day in the city tomorrow!
